Get started in five minutes

This guide walks through newsence’s most important loop: find content, create research context, ask AI, and save the result as a document.

1. Begin in Discover

Discover is the first screen when you open newsence. You can browse public feeds, switch content formats, and read summaries without signing in.

Use the search field at the top of the page, or choose a scope:

  • Blogs
  • News
  • Videos
  • Posts
  • Forums

After choosing a format, use the source buttons to narrow the results further.

2. Sign in and set a username

Sign in with Google or an email verification code to save content or use AI.

If you plan to publish documents or Collections, go to Settings → Profile and set a username. Your username becomes part of your public URL, for example:

newsence.app/your-name

You can skip this step if you are only doing private research.

3. Create your first Workspace

Open the Create menu in the sidebar and choose Workspace. Name it after the question or deliverable, for example:

  • AI agent industry research
  • Semiconductor supply chain weekly brief
  • Product launch source review

A Workspace is a project scope. It keeps the resources, documents, and AI conversations for one piece of work together instead of mixing every saved item into one database.

4. Add research material

Section titled “4. Add research material”

Choose Add resource inside the Workspace. You can:

  • paste one or more URLs;
  • upload a PDF;
  • upload PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, or AVIF images.

Each file must currently be smaller than 10 MB. After submission, newsence acquires and analyzes the content in the background, so you do not need to keep the dialog open.

The item moves through Queued, Fetching and analyzing content, Saving results, and Complete.

5. Let AI use the material

Section titled “5. Let AI use the material”

Open the AI panel on the right side of the Workspace, or go to AI Chat. Before sending a message, confirm that the relevant articles, documents, or Workspace context appear above the input field.

Try one of these prompts:

Summarize these sources. Identify the main arguments, important data, and conclusions.
Compare where these sources agree and disagree, and cite the evidence for each position.

AI responses preserve links to their sources. You can also ask AI to create a document inside the Workspace from the result.

6. Edit and share the result

Section titled “6. Edit and share the result”

Open the document to edit it, add images, inspect version history, or ask AI to revise a specific section.

Documents are private by default. When the document is ready, choose Share, enable Public sharing, and set its URL and description. Turning public sharing off makes the document unavailable to outside readers.
