Research with a Workspace
A Workspace is the center of active work in newsence. It is not meant to store everything you read. It keeps the material needed for one task in a shared context.
Create and switch Workspaces
Section titled “Create and switch Workspaces”Open the Create menu in the sidebar and choose Workspace. Use a name that describes the question or deliverable. “2026 Q3 AI agent market report” will be easier to recognize later than “AI.”
Switch between existing Workspaces above the resource rail. The Free plan supports up to five Workspaces; the Pro plan has no Workspace limit.
Add resources
Section titled “Add resources”A Workspace accepts:
- one or more URLs;
- PDFs smaller than 10 MB;
- PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, or AVIF images smaller than 10 MB;
- existing Collections.
Submitted URLs and files first appear in the processing list. A background job acquires, analyzes, and saves them. AI may not be able to read the full content until the status reaches Complete.
If processing fails, try again later. A source may fail because the website is temporarily unavailable, requires sign-in, blocks acquisition, or uses an unsupported file format.
Use the resource rail
Section titled “Use the resource rail”The resource rail on the right side of a Workspace lets you:
- search resources in the Workspace;
- switch among Workspace resources, documents, Collections, and recent reading;
- read content or open the original source;
- add the current resource to AI context;
- remove resources or Collections you no longer need.
Removing a resource from a Workspace only disconnects it from that project. If the resource remains in a Collection or your personal saves, it is not deleted there.
Create documents inside a Workspace
Section titled “Create documents inside a Workspace”Every document belongs to a Workspace. Create one from the Create menu, or ask AI to save research results as a document.
A Workspace can contain several documents, for example:
- raw research notes;
- a report for publication;
- a weekly brief;
- a social post draft.
Opening a document automatically adds it to AI context. AI edits are recorded in the document’s version history.
Create an audio overview
Section titled “Create an audio overview”Choose Audio overview from the Workspace AI input or ask for an overview in Traditional Chinese or English. Generation moves through queuing, script writing, and synthesis. When complete, the episode is available in the conversation and the Workspace audio section.
Audio generation consumes AI Credits. Larger source sets take longer, and leaving the page does not cancel the background job.
