Troubleshooting and frequently asked questions
A new resource stays in processing
Section titled “A new resource stays in processing”newsence acquires and analyzes URLs, PDFs, and images in the background. Seeing Queued or an analyzing state for a short time is normal. You can close the dialog and continue working.
If processing does not finish:
- Confirm that the source URL opens publicly.
- Reopen the resource to see its latest status.
- Use Resync source for a saved URL.
- Try again later.
A site that requires sign-in, blocks automated acquisition, or is temporarily offline may retain only its URL without full text.
AI cannot see material I just added
Section titled “AI cannot see material I just added”Confirm that the resource status is Complete and that it appears in the context row above the input field. Adding material to a Workspace does not make every conversation read every resource automatically. Selecting only the relevant content reduces errors and Credit usage.
AI reports an insufficient balance
Section titled “AI reports an insufficient balance”Open Settings → Usage to check the balance and next reset time. You can wait for the monthly reset, shorten the input and requested output, or upgrade to Pro. Existing saved content does not disappear when Credits run out.
A document says it changed elsewhere
Section titled “A document says it changed elsewhere”This means another tab, device, or AI edit created a newer version of the same document. Autosave pauses to avoid overwriting it.
- To keep the content in the current tab, copy any important sections first, then choose Save now to explicitly keep the local version.
- To use the newer server version, reload the document and merge any required local content back into it.
Do not close every tab while this error is unresolved. The browser attempts to retain a local draft, but local recovery is not a cloud backup.
I cannot share a document publicly
Section titled “I cannot share a document publicly”Create a username under Settings → Profile first. The share URL requires both a username and a document slug. Slugs can contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
I cannot create a private Collection
Section titled “I cannot create a private Collection”Private Collections are a Pro feature. Collections created on the Free plan are public by default. If the material must remain confidential, keep it in a private Workspace or private document instead of creating a public Collection.
A file will not upload
Section titled “A file will not upload”Check that:
- the file is no larger than 10 MB;
- it is a PDF, PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, or AVIF file;
- a Free account has not reached 50 files or 100 MB of total storage;
- the network connection did not drop during the upload.
Media deletion says the file is still in use
Section titled “Media deletion says the file is still in use”Remove the image from every document that references it and wait for each document to save successfully. Then return to Settings → Media and delete the file.
Public content suddenly disappeared
Section titled “Public content suddenly disappeared”Check whether the owner:
- turned off public sharing for the document;
- made the Collection private;
- made the saved item private;
- changed the username or share slug;
- deleted the content or account.
A public link remains valid only while its owner continues to allow sharing.
