Profiles, privacy, and data management
newsence combines public discovery with private workspaces. Visibility is not one switch for the entire account; each content type has its own setting.
Visibility overview
Section titled “Visibility overview”| Content | Default | How to make it public |
|---|---|---|
| An article saved from a public feed | Private | Change the saved item’s visibility |
| Collection | Public | Public when created; Pro can make it private |
| Workspace | Private | No public Workspace page is available |
| Document | Private draft | Enable Public sharing in share settings |
| Uploaded PDFs and images | Private | Available only through an authorized Workspace or document |
| AI conversations | Private | No public conversation page is available |
Publishing a Collection or document does not expose the entire Workspace or any AI conversations.
Set up your profile
Section titled “Set up your profile”Go to Settings → Profile to set:
- a username;
- a bio.
Your display name and avatar come from the current sign-in account. They appear in settings and on your public profile but cannot currently be changed on this page.
Usernames can contain lowercase letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens. The username becomes part of your public profile URL. Changing it may break links you shared earlier, so avoid changing it frequently after publishing.
Your profile can display:
- public saved articles;
- public Collections;
- published documents.
You may still see private items and drafts while viewing your own profile. Other visitors see only public content.
Sign-in and language
Section titled “Sign-in and language”Under Settings → Account, you can review linked sign-in methods such as email and Google.
Use Settings → Appearance to switch between Traditional Chinese and English, and among light, dark, and system themes.
Media and storage
Section titled “Media and storage”Settings → Media lists uploaded and generated files with their storage usage. Deleting media is permanent. If a document still references the file, newsence blocks deletion until the reference is removed.
The Free plan stores up to 50 user files with a total capacity of 100 MB. The Pro plan currently has no file-count or total-storage limit. Each uploaded file must still be smaller than 10 MB.
Delete your account
Section titled “Delete your account”Deleting an account permanently removes its documents, conversations, Collections, feeds, and uploaded files, and immediately cancels an active subscription. The operation requires email verification and cannot be undone.
